Vodafone Türkiye Accelerates AI-First Transformation with New Data and AI Organization

4 Min Read

Vodafone Türkiye has accelerated its artificial intelligence transformation by bringing its Data, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotic Process Automation teams together under a single organization reporting directly to the chief executive officer.

The new Data and Artificial Intelligence organization is intended to reduce bureaucratic processes, improve decision-making speed, and help the company prioritize resources more clearly as AI becomes increasingly integrated into its business operations.

AI Positioned as a Business Transformation Strategy

Vodafone Türkiye CEO Engin Aksoy said the company views artificial intelligence not simply as a technology investment, but as a broader cultural, operational, and governance transformation.

“Artificial intelligence is no longer a choice, but a necessity. Our primary focus is turning this technology into tangible business value. We approach this process with an ‘AI-first’ philosophy,” Aksoy said.

He said the company’s AI journey began with reporting and data visibility and has since expanded into advanced analytics capable of supporting sales forecasts and predicting customer behavior.

“As the scope of the areas we manage with artificial intelligence expanded, we adapted our organization by placing it under a directorate reporting directly to me,” Aksoy said.

More Than 100 AI Models in Active Use

Vodafone Türkiye currently operates more than 100 artificial intelligence models across its infrastructure and business functions.

These models support a broad range of operational areas, including network optimization, base station and connectivity management, customer experience analysis, risk assessment, fraud detection, and commercial decision-making.

  • Network and Base Stations: Intelligent network optimization and connectivity management.
  • Customer Experience: Net Promoter Score analysis and matching call center agents with customers.
  • Risk and Security: Credit risk, bad debt modeling, fraud detection, and anomaly identification.
  • Commercial Strategy: Device purchasing propensity analysis and adaptive personalized offers.

Customer Value Management Becomes Fully AI-Based

The company has moved to a fully AI-based architecture in its Customer Value Management processes, replacing traditional static campaign models with real-time decision systems.

The new system works together with customer migration prediction models to generate immediate and personalized offers based on changing customer behavior.

According to Vodafone Türkiye, these dynamic AI systems have generated a contribution equivalent to approximately 5.9% of EBITDA.

AI Board Established for Governance and Investment Decisions

Vodafone Türkiye has also established an AI Board to manage artificial intelligence investments and resource allocation from a central governance structure.

The board evaluates projects based on technical effort, risk, and commercial return, while placing particular emphasis on Responsible AI principles.

Large-scale transformation projects are prioritized through the board, while smaller AI use cases are being distributed more widely across departments.

The company has also introduced an internal AI Champions program to build a workforce that can not only develop artificial intelligence solutions, but also request, evaluate, and use them effectively.

Vodafone Recognized for Connectivity and AI Services

Vodafone Türkiye’s technology transformation has also been recognized in the P3 Mobile Benchmark Report published in April.

After receiving the highest performance score in the report, the company was named both P3 Test Champion and P3 AI Services Champion.

Vodafone Türkiye said stable connectivity for AI engines, response times measured in milliseconds, and strong performance across real-world interaction scenarios contributed to the result.

Why It Matters

Vodafone Türkiye’s restructuring shows how large companies are moving beyond isolated AI projects toward centralized governance, measurable business outcomes, and organization-wide adoption. By linking more than 100 models to operational and commercial processes, the company is positioning artificial intelligence as a core management capability rather than a standalone technology initiative.
