Abu Dhabi is advancing its ambition to become an AI-ready nation by streamlining government services, reducing bureaucracy and creating a more supportive environment for startups and entrepreneurs.
Speaking during Hub71’s Impact Event 2026 at Manarat Al Saadiyat, H.E. Ruba Al Hassan, Director General of Strategic Affairs and Future Foresight at the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi, outlined the emirate’s strategy for building an AI-driven economy and digitally enabled government.
TAMM at the Centre of Abu Dhabi’s AI Vision
Al Hassan highlighted the TAMM government services platform as one of the key enablers of Abu Dhabi’s digital transformation strategy.
The platform currently provides access to more than 1,100 government services delivered through over 90 government and private-sector partners via a single digital interface.
According to Al Hassan, TAMM’s artificial intelligence assistant is capable of resolving approximately 77% of requests instantly, supports more than 90 languages, and has achieved a customer satisfaction rate of 92.5%.
Reducing Friction for Entrepreneurs
Al Hassan emphasized that the platform was designed with founders and business owners in mind, helping entrepreneurs spend less time navigating bureaucracy and more time building their businesses.
She noted that time, rather than capital, is often the scarcest resource for founders, making administrative efficiency a critical component of startup success.
The emirate’s broader objective is to create a government system that operates quietly in the background while allowing innovation and entrepreneurship to take center stage.
Business Space Simplifies Company Formation
One of the latest additions to the TAMM ecosystem is Business Space, a feature designed to help entrepreneurs manage key stages of their business journey through a single platform.
The service allows users to identify suitable commercial premises, evaluate market competition, obtain licenses and access various business services through a streamlined digital process.
The initiative forms part of Abu Dhabi’s wider efforts to improve the ease of doing business and strengthen its position as a destination for startups and innovation-led companies.
AutoGov Uses AI to Handle Administrative Tasks
Al Hassan also introduced AutoGov, an artificial intelligence feature that automatically renews trade licenses on behalf of businesses and informs users once the process has been completed.
Since its launch, AutoGov has generated savings exceeding AED17 million for businesses by reducing manual processes and administrative costs.
The feature reflects Abu Dhabi’s broader strategy of embedding AI directly into government operations to simplify interactions between businesses and public institutions.
Ambition to Become the World’s First AI-Native Government
According to Al Hassan, Abu Dhabi’s long-term objective is to become the world’s first AI-native government, capable of operating at the speed required by modern entrepreneurs and technology companies.
The strategy focuses on removing obstacles, reducing friction and enabling businesses to dedicate more resources toward growth, innovation and job creation.
Al Hassan later joined Mustafa Alrawi, Director of Strategic Communications at the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, for a discussion examining resilience and future-ready government systems.
