Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, in collaboration with ADGM Academy (ADGMA), has launched a new edition of the Ruwad Al Ain Bootcamp, a government-backed initiative designed to equip Emirati entrepreneurs with the skills, mentorship and industry exposure needed to build scalable businesses.
The five-day program was held from June 8-12, 2026, at MZN Hub Al Ain, ADGM’s entrepreneurship and innovation hub supporting founders and startups across the emirate.
Supporting The Next Generation Of Emirati Entrepreneurs
Building on the success of previous editions, the latest bootcamp aimed to deepen participants’ engagement with Abu Dhabi’s entrepreneurial ecosystem while creating opportunities within sectors expected to play an important role in Al Ain’s future economic development.
Led by Khalifa Fund and delivered in partnership with ADGM Academy, the program combined practical learning with real-world business challenges designed to strengthen entrepreneurial capabilities and commercial thinking.
Participants worked on refining business ideas, developing entrepreneurial mindsets and gaining hands-on experience through mentorship, sector-specific challenges and access to the wider MZN innovation ecosystem.
Focus On Four Strategic Growth Sectors
This year’s edition focused on four strategic sectors identified as priorities for Al Ain’s long-term economic development:
- Agritech
- Light Manufacturing
- Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity
- Culture and Tourism
According to the organizers, concentrating on these sectors encourages entrepreneurs to develop solutions that align with Al Ain’s economic identity, diversification objectives and future competitiveness.
Practical Learning Meets Real Business Challenges
The bootcamp provided practical training across a range of entrepreneurial disciplines, including team building, business modelling, prototyping and investor pitching.
Participants also worked closely with industry experts, mentors and ecosystem partners to develop solutions to real-world business challenges while expanding their professional networks.
The initiative was designed to expose participants to venture creation processes while strengthening their ability to identify commercially viable opportunities within high-growth industries.
Strengthening Abu Dhabi’s Innovation Economy
Khalifa Saeed Al Kuwaiti, Executive Director of the Entrepreneurship Sector at Khalifa Fund, said the program reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting Emirati entrepreneurs in Al Ain and helping them build sustainable ventures capable of adapting to future opportunities and challenges.
He added that initiatives such as the Ruwad Al Ain Bootcamp help transform promising ideas into businesses capable of generating long-term economic impact while supporting Abu Dhabi’s transition toward a knowledge-based economy.
Ali Al Mehairi, Senior Executive Director of Business Enablement at ADGM Academy and Research Centre, highlighted the importance of applied learning and industry collaboration in developing future-ready entrepreneurial skills among UAE nationals.
According to Al Mehairi, the bootcamp combines practical experience with mentorship, venture creation and innovation-driven problem solving while connecting participants with opportunities across the wider MZN ecosystem.
Winning Teams Receive Long-Term Support
The program concluded with participants presenting their business concepts to a panel of experts and industry judges.
Three winning teams were selected to receive six months of tailored one-on-one mentorship from local experts aimed at helping them refine their ventures, validate customer demand and strengthen alignment with Abu Dhabi’s priority sectors.
The winning teams will also gain access to MZN Hub Al Ain’s facilities, including meeting rooms, 3D printing laboratories and podcast production studios.
In addition, participants will benefit from accelerated entry into the second edition of the Khalifa Fund Entrepreneurship Competition, which supports startups operating within Abu Dhabi’s strategic sectors.
Why It Matters

By connecting founders with mentorship, infrastructure and strategic sectors, the program helps create stronger pathways from ideas to scalable businesses within the emirate’s evolving economy.
