The Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) will host the “Entering the Chinese Market: The World’s Largest E-Commerce Ecosystem and the China International Import Expo” conference on July 24, 2026, aiming to help Turkish companies expand into China through cross-border e-commerce and international trade opportunities.
Held at the EIB headquarters, the event will bring together exporters and government officials to discuss Türkiye’s e-export strategy, state support programs, and practical approaches for accessing one of the world’s largest consumer markets.
Government Support for Cross-Border E-Commerce
Hasan Önal, Head of Department at the Turkish Ministry of Trade’s General Directorate of Exports, will participate in the conference to provide exporters with updates on Türkiye’s e-export policies, government incentives, and cross-border e-commerce practices.
The event is intended to offer practical guidance for businesses seeking to enter the Chinese market while making greater use of digital trade channels.
China Offers Significant Consumer Potential
EIB Coordinator Chairman Muhammet Öztürk highlighted China’s US$5 trillion trade volume and advanced digital infrastructure, describing the country as one of the world’s most attractive export destinations for Turkish products.
Öztürk noted that China is home to approximately 300 million consumers with living standards comparable to those in Europe, creating substantial opportunities for premium and value-added Turkish products.
He added that, with the support of Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade, Turkish companies are expected to strengthen their presence in global markets through expanded e-commerce capabilities and targeted export initiatives.
CIIE Remains a Strategic Gateway
Öztürk also emphasized the strategic importance of the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE), where the Aegean Exporters’ Associations will once again organize Türkiye’s national participation.
According to EIB, Türkiye’s exports to China increased by 32% during the first six months of 2026, reaching US$1.808 billion.
To help narrow the trade imbalance between the two countries, Turkish companies operating in food, agriculture, textiles, cosmetics, furniture, and other consumer-focused industries are being encouraged to participate in the Shanghai exhibition and attend the July 24 conference.
Expanding Türkiye’s Presence in China
Through initiatives such as the conference and the China International Import Expo, EIB aims to provide exporters with market intelligence, government support information, and networking opportunities that can accelerate entry into China’s rapidly evolving digital marketplace.
Why It Matters
China remains one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing consumer markets, offering significant opportunities for Turkish exporters seeking international expansion. By combining government-backed e-export initiatives with participation in major trade exhibitions such as CIIE, Turkish companies can strengthen their competitiveness, diversify export markets, and capitalize on the rapid growth of cross-border digital commerce.
